I utilized pfSense, a managed switch, and an access point to configure VLANs, effectively creating network separation for enhanced security and traffic management. By deploying pfSense, an open-source firewall and router, I set up and managed multiple VLANs to segregate network traffic, isolating different types of devices and users to minimize security risks. The managed switch allowed me to define VLAN tags and ensure proper traffic routing, while the access point provided wireless connectivity for each VLAN. This configuration improved network performance, increased security, and facilitated better control over network resources, demonstrating my ability to implement advanced network management solutions and enhance IT infrastructure.
